Reporting the headlines — and making them. GMA3 anchor Amy Robach found herself at the center of the November 2022 news cycle when photos emerged of her and costar T.J. Holmes, both married to other people, getting cozy throughout the month.
Per photos obtained by the Daily Mail, the ABC personalities were spotted in New York City and upstate New York over a period of several weeks, including one shot that depicted Holmes playfully placing his hand on Robach’s backside. In the wake of the scandal, the journalists deleted their respective social media accounts. The Ocean’s Eight star’s husband, Andrew Shue, has also since wiped the photos of his wife from his Instagram grid.
While the stars are protecting their social media privacy amid romance rumors, Robach and Holmes were professional — and did not acknowledge the controversy — in their first GMA3 appearance since the news broke. The two have anchored the third hour of GMA together since 2020.
The New York residents’ romance “blossomed from a close friendship,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly shortly after news broke of Robach and Holmes’ relationship. “They always had a spark and their work trips away together brought them even closer.”
Robach is the mom of two daughters, whom she shares with ex-husband Tim McIntosh. The former couple were married from 1996 to 2008. The journalist tied the knot with Shue two years later, becoming stepmom to his three sons, whom the Melrose Place actor shares with ex-wife Jennifer Hageney. Holmes, for his part, has been married to wife Marilee Fiebig since 2011. The pair share one daughter, while Holmes is also father of a daughter and son from his previous marriage to Amy Ferson.
The former Weekend Today host and Shue praised the way they were able to unite their blended family in a December 2021 interview on The View.
“This is our greatest achievement, because it is not easy,” the Rainmaker star shared. “Anybody who’s blended a family knows that when you’re bringing together different parenting styles it is very hard.”
Shue particularly praised his wife’s parenting skills at the time. “I give Amy all the credit for really sticking with it, because there were a lot of times where I was kind of the problem in figuring out how to create a playbook together,” he added. “Amy has brought so much to my boys, discipline and love. It’s really been a journey.”
The twosome, who exclusively gushed to Us about their large family in 2017, sold their New York City apartment one week before the photos of Robach and Holmes made headlines.

3. How Many Children Does Robach Have?
When the Michigan native married Shue in 2010, they blended their families — they have a total of five children from their respective marriages — into what friends “described as the Brady Bunch,” the news anchor joked with Us in 2017.
Robach shares teenage daughters Ava and Annie with McIntosh. She is also the stepmom of Shue’s sons Nate, Aidan and Wyatt.
“At least five nights a week we sit down for dinner together. And we spend one-on-one time with each kid. It really changes the relationship,” Shue told Us. “It doesn’t have to be extravagant, but it’s rewarding.”
