French publishing giant Ubisoft has hired Katie Scott as its new vice president of editorial.
She comes on board having previously spent over three years working at Microsoft’s The Coalition studio, first as a lead game designer and then as a game design director. Prior to that, Scott spent almost 11 years at Electronic Arts, contributing to the firm’s FIFA, Battlefield and Medal of Honor franchises. She’s even worked at Ubisoft in the past, spending six months creating cinematics for the firm’s Driver: San Francisco.
“I am excited to join Ubisoft and collaborate with its talented, international teams to build memorable experiences that bring together players from around the world,” Scott said.
“Ubisoft’s brands are some of the most beloved in the industry, and I look forward to working with our production teams to help shape the creative vision behind them.”
Ubisoft’s SVP of studio operations, Marie-Sophie de Waubert, added: “I am confident that as a member of the Global Creative Office, she will empower our production teams to co-build Ubisoft’s creative vision across our portfolio, and help us continue to develop inclusive titles that players from every walk of life can enjoy.”
Scott’s hiring comes in the wake of DICE vet Fawzi Mesmar joining Ubisoft as vice president of editorial back in December 2021. He is still with the company.
