Could a Halo Crossover Be Coming to Overwatch 2 Soon?

Amidst Microsoft’s struggles to complete its acquisition of Activision-Blizzard, fans are patiently waiting to see what the business move could lead to in terms of in-game experiences. Many fans are expecting to see Halo crossovers in Overwatch 2 and esports team New York Excelsior showed off a render that could be making it to a future battle pass. Activision Blizzard is set to be acquired by Microsoft but there are legal complications that have slowed down the process and only time will tell if we will get the crossover skins that fans want so badly.

Here’s a look at the Soldier: 76 Master Chief Skin

New York Excelsior showed off a Soldier 76 skin in the Master Chief outfit. The team teased the skin as part of a future battle pass. The skin may or may not become a reality but fans are excited to see what we can expect once the Microsoft acquisition goes through.

In January, Washington Justice also shared a crossover skin it created featuring Halo-themed armor for Soldier: 76. We have seen Overwatch do crossover skins in the past but we have not seen any collaborations from franchises that are not owned by Blizzard Entertainment.

Currently, we have the Kerrigan skin for Widowmaker based on the Starcraft franchise, the Magni skin for Torbjorn from World of Warcraft, and more. There are references to pop culture characters like Frankenstein, Dracula and many more, but the developers have not collaborated with other popular titles.

Halo recently had a collaboration with Destiny 2 and fans want the Master Chief to come to Overwatch as well. With Microsoft’s business deal yet to be approved legally, fans will have to wait a little longer until we see the implications of the buyout take place. Many are expecting Blizzard Entertainment’s games to be added to the Game Pass with special perks for subscribers while others are expecting crossovers with Microsoft titles.
