Yuga Labs’ Otherside Releases Its Highly-Anticipated Legends of the Mara NFT Game

Yuga Labs, the digital asset incubation studio and the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) creator, through its renowned metaverse gaming venture, Otherside, has launched its much anticipated NFT collection-based 2D strategy metaverse game, Legends of the Mara.

In a March 28 blog post, the Bored Ape Yacht Club, through its metaverse gaming venture, Otherside, confirmed the official launching of its non-fungible token game Legends of the Mara. The digital asset firm Yuga Labs hinted at the launching of the new metaverse game earlier this year.

What Is Legends Of The Mara, And How Does One Play?

Otherside: Legends of the Mara is a 2D standalone experience powered by ApeCoin. The new strategy game features the Otherside Koda collection and will introduce a new collection called Mara, which can evolve into Kodamara.

Under the right conditions with a suitable catalyst, Mara can evolve into a more skilled Kodamara. The two virtual characters will help users in the fight in the Otherside. However, their powers are constrained when compared to the ancient Koda.

The new metaverse game begins with every Otherdeed holder being gifted a Vessel. Each Vessel will feature several functions, such as random Hunting, Farming, or Enchanting. It will have a specific incubation period before it will reveal a Mara.

Once Mara has emerged from their Vessels as a new NFT collection, users can purchase and sell them through various trading platforms. The new metaverse game is open to users holding Otherdeed for the Otherside NFT collection.

Otherside To Offer Free Legends Of the Mara Vessels

Based on site publication, players will start claiming their free Vessel from next week. Each claimed Vessel would be sent to the Otherdeed-holding wallet as a separate ERC-721 token with a new smart contract NFT collection. Players can also purchase Vessels via trading platforms. The metaverse game will officially start in May.

The journey begins by claiming your free Vessel — each Otherdeed holder can claim one — and decoupling Kodas from Otherdeeds. That kicks off soon. Then starting in May, we prepare to defend Otherside.

Crypto users and gamers will use their claimed Vessel to jumpstart the Legends of the Mara metaverse experience. It’s worth noting Yuga Labs has launched a similar metaverse experience in recent weeks, including “The 2nd Trip of the Otherside and Dookey Dash.
